Polunsky Kairos Advisory Council Standards
The shared vision of Kairos Prison Ministry International (KPMI) and the parties in this Covenant is a community spiritually freed from the effects of imprisonment reaching all impacted by incarceration, through the love, hope and faith found in Jesus Christ.
The Core Values that guide our behavior and actions as volunteers in service in a lay-led, Christ-centered Ministry include:

d. Respect and Love
e. Stewardship
The Kairos Advisory Council of TDCJ Polunsky Unit, Livingston, Texas, its officers, and committees, will to the best of their ability:
a. Represent the interests, needs and programs of the various Unit’s Kairos programs.
2) Polunsky AC Council members.
a. Support the activities of the state’s requirement for Advisory Councils through regular communications.
b. Supply prompt advice and decisions on procedural and policy issues, as specified in the Advisory Council Operating Manual (ACOP).
c. Manage the collection, expenditure and reporting of Kairos financial operations on behalf of the Advisory Council.
d. Sponsor trainings to prepare volunteers for leadership on Councils and Kairos teams.
e. Manage a public website to communicate news and information of Kairos activities within the State.
f. Provide resources and advice to aid ACs with fundraising and volunteer recruitment.
g. Ensure the spiritual health of the ministry throughout the state through biblical leadership and prayer.
Advisory Council of Polunsky, their officers, committees, and volunteers, will to the best of their ability:
1) Conduct their activities following the Advisory Council Operating Procedures (ACOP), especially about holding regularly scheduled meetings with recorded minutes, annual elections, setting weekend dates and the selection of weekend leaders.
2) Files correct and prompt reports to the State Chapter Committee (SCC) and have a representative at all SCC meetings.
3) Function as “One Kairos” honoring and abiding by the structure, governance and policies of KPMI.
4) Cultivate beneficial relationships with the Kansas Department of Corrections and the leadership of local KDOC facilities.
5) Complete and file with the SCC an Excellence Initiative report following each weekend.
6) Abide by and respect the decisions and guidance of the State Chapter Committee, as led by KPMI.
7) Ensure the spiritual health of the ministry at the local level through biblical leadership and prayer
